Cycling Bac Ha To Trung Do – Bicycle Trip Highlights

Day 1: Hanoi to Lao Cai Bike Trip

Our first day was a solid relaxation. Arriving in Hanoi, we strolled down the streets and the Old Quarters.

After supper, we traveled to the train station to board the 10:00 p.m. night train to Lao Cai and relaxed in a nice sleeper with air conditioning.

Day 2: Lao Cai Vietnam Mountain Biking To Trung Do

We left Lao Cai towards Bao Nhai Bridge after breakfast at a neighborhood restaurant. The absolute highlight of the day was the breathtaking view we saw while traveling up the Chay River in a boat and eating a picnic lunch at “Fairy Cave”.

After lunch, we returned downstream to Trung Do village to the homestay at Tay Hamlet. It was nice to enjoy dinner with our Tay hosts’ friendly hospitality.

Day 3: Trung Do – Bac Ha – Ban Pho Mountain Biking in Vietnam

Today’s scenery was really breathtaking and had to be seen to be believed. After a filling breakfast, we hopped on our bikes and rode around the hamlet, meeting the residents and soaking in the gorgeous countryside.

Following lunch, we stopped in Ban Pho village on our way to visit the people in the nearby villages of Bac Ha. From there, we biked on a dirt road that passed through rice fields, plum orchards, and stilt houses.

Day 4: Bac Ha Mountain Biking Vietnam – Return to Hanoi

We had to naturally return to Lao Cai on the last day of the biking trip, but there were still two more exciting things to see.

After breakfast, we went to the former Hmong King’s magnificent home before traveling to Lung Phin village, which is home to Flower Hmong and Phu La people. These lovely locations are primarily for people who enjoy architecture, indigenous culture, or just lovely things in general.

Cycling Bac Ha to Trung Do tour was an epic 4 days that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the local culture and environment fully.
