Cycling Mekong Delta – A Wonderful Experience

Currently, the cycling tour model is getting more popular among travelers who desire to chill out and explore the stunning beauty of natural settings along the road while the total prices are quite reasonable.

Among numerous trip choices, cycling Mekong delta is one of the most favorable options as tourists can stand a good chance of adoring the largest river in Vietnam and other landscapes which symbolize Vietnam’s natural beauty.

Below is our tour itinerary designed for you to explore the whole Mekong delta in seven days. Exciting, right?

Cycling Mekong Delta: Cycling Itinerary In 7 Days

During seven days, our trip will help you explore the whole Mekong delta area and have one of the most amazing experiences in your life. Let’s get started.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Long An – Ben Tre Bike Tour

After you arrive at Tan Son Nhat airport, our guide will come to pick you up and start our journey to the Mekong delta. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the road or take a rest after a tiresome flight.

Upon reaching the cycling point, you will learn how to use your bike properly and some important transportation rules. Afterwards, you will set your way to Long An and My Tho passing many rural villages and greenery corn fields before overnighting at the hotel.

Day 2: Ben Tre – Tra Vinh – Soc Trang Cycle Tour

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will reach Ben Tre, the land of coconut plantations. Here you can visit some coconut production workshops to know more about locals’ jobs and some unexpected functions of this wonderful plant.

Next, we will have lunch and recuperate before riding to Tra Vinh and Soc Trang. Arriving here, you have a perfect opportunity to enjoy the Khmer tribe’s activities and admire the gorgeous speciality of indigenous architecture.

Day 3: Soc Trang – Bac Lieu – Ca Mau Bike Tour

We then continue our trip by visiting Clay and Bat pagoda to learn about the Khmer religious faiths before heading to Bac Lieu. Here, you will recharge your batteries after an exhausting ride by enjoying lunch at the famous mandarin residence in Bac Lieu.

Our next stop is Ca Mau, the end of Vietnam. You can be startled by the watery surroundings, as water occupies more than two-thirds of the city area.

Day 4: Ca Mau – Rach Gia Biking Tour

Spending one night in Ca Mau, we will head off to the U Minh Ha national park, which is home to diverse species of fauna and flora.

This is a perfect opportunity to adore the natural landscape’s pristine beauty and learn more about animals’ habits. You can also be guided about how to feed them properly and taste sweet honey as well. Afterwards, we will transfer to Rach Gia city and stay overnight there.

Day 5: Rach Gia – Chau Doc Cycle Trip

The following day, we will explore Rach Gia by cycling to the Thai Son holy mountain and visiting traditional villages. Spending lunchtime interacting with native people to know more about the city’s foundation and special features is really worth it.

Next, we stop at the Ba Chuc field, an “alive” testament to the horrible war period of Vietnam history, to pay tribute to civilians who bravely sacrificed during the fight against the red Khmer tribe before riding to Chau Doc town and having a night there.

Day 6: Chau Doc – Cao Lanh Cycle Tour

Arriving at Cao Lanh, we will discover the Dong Thap lowland, well-known for its boundless paddy fields and lush grasslands.

Then, we will paddle to one of many floating markets in Cao Lanh, where you can buy fruits or specialities as souvenirs for family and friends. From a means of livelihood, this market type has now become a fascinating aspect of the local culture.

Day 7: Cao Lanh – Sai Gon Bike Tour

Leaving Cao Lanh, we will head back to Saigon. On the track, we may enjoy a coffee break and let off steam at the My Tho district, which is 25 km far from Cao Lanh.

Afterwards, we will continue our journey by cycling to Xeo Quyt base and having a hearty lunch at the local restaurant before driving back to Saigon as our last destination.
