After the check-in, there was some time to unwind and discuss the agenda for the next few days with our guide. Then, we went for a short ride on a cyclo to explore the Old Quartier and get a feel for the city. Day 2: Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Mai Chau Mountain Cycling Tour

When we first arrived in Luong Son, the entrance to the breathtaking mountainous region of northern Vietnam, we began riding over an undulating road with outstanding views of valleys, mountains, rice fields, and sugarcane farms.

After lunch and a short break, we dared ourselves to cycle 34 kilometers to the Thung Khe Pass, following the Da River’s bank. We pedaled to the resort after reaching Mai Chau in the late afternoon. After lunch, we traversed the magnificent Hai Van Pass and climbed the top for 13 kilometers. On the summit, we got to see Da Nang, Lang Co in beautiful vistas and the charming Hoi An ancient town.

Day 10: Hoi An – Quang Ngai Cycle Tour

Starting from the hotel, we cycled back to the city, took a boat tour along the Thu Bon River to Duy Nghia, and then pedaled to Tam Ky along the coast. After lunch, we visited the My Lai Memorial and saw a brief video on the horrific crime committed by US troops toward civilians. 

Along the biking trip, we met many hospitable and outgoing locals who made us feel at home. They introduced us to savor Com Ga Tam Ky (rice with chicken – a signature dish in Tam Ky), and it was super lip-smacking.

Day 11: Quang Ngai – Quy Nhon Biking Tour

We started moving further on the route that took us to Cat Tien National Park, where our shuttle bus was waiting to pick us up and take us to the hotel.
