The highest mountain pass in Indochina was 3 km away from there, where we stopped to take in the breathtaking panorama of the Hoang Lien mountains before riding to the Binh Lu junction.
Day 2: Than Uyen – Muong Kim – Van Ban Cycling Tour
After breakfast, we began the day with a 10-km uphill and downhill trek to the village of Muong Kim, where we explored and learned about the way of life of the Thai people.
Following lunch in Minh Luong, we had a wonderful afternoon exploring some single-track trails to local villages of ethnic minorities. When we got to Van Ban town, our day came to an end.
Day 3: Van Ban – Vo Lao – Sapa Bicycle Tour
For the last day of our Sapa bike tours, the crew cycled 40 km around the breathtaking Minh Luong valley’s other side. Along the ride, we took a brief pause to capture pictures of the local tribe inhabitants and the stunning surroundings.

By noon, Bac Ngam greeted us with a fresh breeze and a delectable lunch.
Then, we continued the journey and headed to Bac Ha. Arriving at twilight, what could be better than taking a short ride around the peaceful town and capturing the holy sunset? As the night wore on, the guide treated us to a heartful dinner, and we spent the night at the hotel, restoring our energy for the next day.
Day 2: Bac Ha – Can Cau Biking Tour
The destination for day 2 was the Can Cau market, one of the most famous tribal markets in northern Vietnam. The road connecting Bac Ha with Can Cau was hilly but incredibly picturesque. The market was a memorable experience since the intriguing products and the ethnic minority groups represented there were unlike anything we have seen before.
After lunch, we returned to Bac Ha. On the way, we had a pleasant trip to Ban Pho, a village of Hmong and Nung people, which was close to Bac Ha. God blessed us when our team could miss and visit A Lu’s house, a local resident, who welcomed us with the biggest smile and even offered us to taste his homemade corn wine.
Day 3: Bac Ha – Lao Cai Bike Trip
On this last day of cycling in Sapa, a short riding route led us to the former Hmong King’s old castle. After enjoying the sacred and nostalgic vibe, it was time to stir up our mood by going to a local market where a diverse range of ethnic minorities, including the Nung, Tay, Flower Hmong, and Black Dao, came together to exchange goods.
Then, the crew set off from Bac Ha and cycled downward to Bao Nhai. Finally, we took a boat to Lao Cai Railway Station and ended our wonderful journey of exploring this exciting destination of northern Vietnam.
Sapa Hill Tribe Exploring 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Sapa – Thanh Phu – Sin Chai Bicycle Tour
This tour brought us to the Sapa valley, which features breathtaking views of mountains and endless rice paddies. A filling breakfast recharged our energy bar, and the crew departed from Sapa and rode our bicycles down the recently constructed dirt road to reach the Su Pan village, home of Black Hmong tribal people.
It took us a few hours to visit and explore the village. Following a brief rest, our biking tour continued to head to Thanh Phu, a Tay ethnic minority community. The next stop on our journey was Sin Chai, a village of Red Dao people, where we enjoyed a fine meal in a local residence and spent the night in a motel.

Our first morning activity was a leisurely bike ride to Ban Ho village. Once setting our foot there, the locals introduced us to the neighboring river just a stone’s throw away, where the entire crew had an incredible time swimming in the refreshing water.
